The past year and a half have witnessed some major changes in Ada policy within the US Department of Defense. Most significantly, the termination of the Ada Joint Program Office has resulted in a redistribution of responsibilities surrounding various Ada standards-related activities. This panel will discuss the issues involved and will provide a status update of the efforts.

• How will Ada compilers be certified as conforming with the standard?
• How will a certification test suite be maintained?
• Are there plans to revise this test suite?
• What will be the "authority" behind the certification process?
• How will the Ada standard be interpreted and, when necessary, corrected?
• Are there plans to revise the standard? If so, what is the expected scope of changes?
