One of the most significant and revolutionary technologies is the use
of Architecture Description Language to model, formally analyze, and implement
the software/hardware architecture of imbedded real-time systems.
The language and toolset is MetaH, which is compatible with Ada83 and Ada95.
The technology also includes the ability to express the behavior of the
system at the architecture level and generate the system executive to implement
the described behavior. Embedded systems reuse is greatly enabled

CORBA for Real-Time and Non Real-Time Ada 95 Applications

CORBA, the Object Management Group (OMG) standardized middleware, provides
developers with a technology to created mixed-language, heterogeneous,
distributed-object programs. Developers are now using OIS' CORBA ORB --
ORBexpress for Ada 95 -- in both hard and soft real-time systems as well
as for those non real-time systems where performance is important. In addition
to describing CORBA and ORBexpress, this presentation will highlight the
on going OMG effort to standardize a Real-Time CORBA ORB, OIS' role in
that effort, and the many Real-Time features which are already included
in ORBexpress Real-Time for Ada 95. Finally, information on OIS' newest
implementations of CORBA Services and the current status of ORBexpress
will be presented.
