Using Ada for semiconductor assembly equipment

Wiljan Derks

Abstract

ITEC (Industrial and Technological Engineering Centre) is a department within Philips. ITEC engineers complete semiconductor assembly solutions for discrete semiconductors within Philips. That is the production process from wafers into packaged and tested products which yields billions of products like transistors and diodes each year. Five years ago we started using Ada95 when migrating to Windows NT. This presentation explains how we use this platform successfully for our equipment control.
