The following choices for transportation are available:
You can take MARTA from the airport to the hotel via the North-South Line (a bigger map), sometimes referred to as the North Springs Line. If you take the other train from the airport, you can switch to the correct northbound train at the Five Points station.
All MARTA trips are $1.75 -- you buy a token for $2 at the machines, getting one token and one quarter back. The token machines take US coins and $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills; there is nobody around to make change for you manually, so if you put in a $10 bill, you get 5 tokens and 5 quarters. Bring $1 bills with you for the MARTA machines! A token gets you on the train and you can get off, change trains, etc., until you arrive at your destination.
Use the North line from the South Airport Terminal (the terminal building near the baggage claim area) -- Airport Station S-7 to Buckhead Station N-7.
Although the Buckhead Station (3360 Peachtree Road) is about 200 meters from the DoubleTree Hotel (3342 Peachtree Road NE), the driving distance is about 1.3 miles, according to maps.yahoo.com (probably because of one-way streets or major highways that cannot be crossed easily by vehicles).
Here are a couple other useful maps:
- The Atlanta Link Airport Shuttle provides one-way transport to Buckhead from the airport for US$20 — or round-trip for US$36. There should be several shuttles outside of the airport's baggage claim area. There is also a booth to book a shuttle. You may also make reservations on the website.
- Taxis are also available from the airport. We do not know the cost yet.
- You may drive your personal vehicle.
