Panel session: "Directions for the Software Community" Moderator: Robert Firth, Software Engineering Institute Panelists: Doug Jerger, Vice President ITAA; Dr. Bruce Krell, author and software engineering expert; and Robert Melford, Co-Chair, IEEE/ACM joint Task Force on Software Engineering Ethics and Professional Practices This panel of experts will lead an interactive dialog with conference attendees as to the critical issues and courses of action being faced by the software community. This will include topics such as establishing a legitimate software profession, the role of programming languages in modern software systems, and opportunities for exploiting the best of government and commercial software practices. |
