This includes complimentary wireless Internet in all the guest rooms. State and local taxes will be added per night. All reservations must be guaranteed by credit card.
Check-in time is 4:00pm. Check-out time is 11:00am.
Guests are permitted to check-in earlier on a request basis through the Front Office Manager, and will be honored according to anticipated occupancy for that day. Complimentary facilities (e.g., checkroom) will be available for early arrivals and late checkouts, if available.
All room requests require an advance deposit or credit card to guarantee the reservation. Should you desire to cancel your reservation, your deposit will be refunded in full if you notify the Hotel at least seventy-two(72) hours prior to your scheduled arrival date. Credit cards will not be charged until actual check-in or late cancellation.
At this late date, the best advice to get a room is to contact the hotel directly.
You may contact Leyla Amrani to make reservations during regular business hours Monday-Friday at +1.503.499.6303. She can also be reached via email at (Leyla.Amrani at Marriott.Com). When calling the hotel, you can reference "HILT 2014 Conference, October 16-22, 2014".
Regular internet and Wi-Fi Internet access is free in each guest room as they are included in the group rate for the conference.
Parking at the hotel is not free; information can be found at

) as well as information about transportation to and from the airport via Blue Star ($14 one-way, scheduled), Subway service ($2.50 one-way), and taxi ($50 one-way). Information about these is found athttp://www.marriott.com/hotels/maps/travel/pdxor-portland-marriott-downtown-waterfront/
In addition, the above hotel web page gives information about other forms of transportation: Bus, Subway, Train, and Car Rentals.
The MAX light rail is a system of fast street-car-like vehicles. The Red Line originates at the Airport, adjacent to Baggage Carousel 1. Trains run every 15 minutes or so. The trip to downtown is about 30 minutes and costs $2.50. (If you're over 65, an Honored Citizen ticket is $1.00.) Buy a ticket on the platform before you get on the train — there are roving ticket inspectors who give out a fine if you don't have a ticket.
Take the Red Line to Gateway Station (4 stops), then change to the Green Line, toward City Center/PSU. Once you cross the river into downtown, you're heading southbound on 5th Avenue. Get off at the 5th and Jefferson stop, then walk east — the streets count down to First, then Naito, then the Willamette River. The hotel is at Naito, a big white building. The blocks in Portland are uniformly 200 feet, so the hotel is about a 1000-foot walk from the MAX.
